General Information


Status and objectives

The Mauritian Institute is a scientific and development institution registered and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Estonia. It continues the academic traditions of the school and the library of the Tallinn Dominican Monastery, founded in 1246. The statutory objectives of the Mauritian Institute include academic scientific activities and graduate education, foremost in the field of philosophical research. One of the goals of the Mauritian Institute is also research and popularisation of the activities and legacy of the first scholar of Estonia, Lecturer Mauritius (1243-1323?).
